We believe that art can touched people mind in softest ways that can lead to better changes. Using arts as a tool to reach out people’s mind is one of our strategies towards building a fairer and better community. One of the main reasons for us to run campaigns or do play is to reach out to grassroots people to start conversation around issues that they rarely get to think or talk about. If you want to be part of the change, please follow us on Facebook for future campaigns and plays.In 2019, Ma Nandar (founder of PFG) along with other feminists Ma Aye Thiri Kyaw, Dr.Thet Su Htwe, Dr. Phyo Thiha, and Ma Pyone Thet Thet Kyaw felt the need to start conversation around Hpone because the concept of “hpone” is an underlying driver of gender discriminatory practices in Myanmar society. “Hpone” reinforces the idea that women are by born lower than men and hence should be expected to remain as second class citizens.In order to deconstruct the concept, and promote the positive messages towards gender equality, efforts will be made in collaboration with the social activists (both men and women).The campaign will invite all the supporters who want to change these gender unequal practices.
