Ma Nandar


Founder of Purple Feminists Group, Writer, Translator from Myanmar
Area(s) of expertise: Domestic violence, feminist literature, street harassment and respect for women’s bodies.Ma Nandar is a feminist advocate, a translator, and a storyteller. She was born and raised in a small village in Northern Shan State, Myanmar. She is recognized as one of the most powerful feminist thinkers in Myanmar. She has spoken in several panel discussions with other activists in Myanmar and outside on feminism, youth leadership, and media.She is the founder of Purple Feminists Group and one of the leading organizers and directors of The Vagina Monologues play that took place in Myanmar since 2018. She also acts as a host for G-Taw Zagar Wyne both in English and Myanmar languages.
She has translated the Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s work Why We Should All Be Feminists and Dear Ijeawele or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions with the authorization from the author. Ma Nandar has her own podcast named Feminist Talks.

A free soul , chatterbox and final year Business Management student, Rupa Htun , is currently working at Purple Feminist Group as Finance Admin.Strong leadership and decision making ability to volunteer as the President of American Center Innovative Speaking Club . Her motive is to raise the issues and lead the voice of girls and ladies suppressed in the community. She loves to travel to new places and meet with new people.

Project Assistant at Purple Feminist Group (PFG) , Translator, Interprecter, Active and Energetic Youth from Myanmar.Area (s) of Expertise: Project Management, Business Operations, Business Development, Team Building, Event Management, Community Management, Translation and Interpretation Ei Thinzar Phyo@Julia is a hardworking young lady, born and raised in Myanmar, who believes in ‘Change starts within’ and ‘Practice always makes Perfect’. She had been experiencing the managerial skills since young age. She is the leading member of university extracurricular students discussion club, and has been the student leader for three executive years at university girls’ dormitory of 150-200 female students since sophomore year. She is a public speaker and a devoting volunteer at youth communities locally. She started as an Intern Content Writer with PFG, since 2019, and helped out with different matters for the organization since. She is now working as an employee at PFG and devoting her time and energy for the organization with all her skill set. She is courageous to take challenges and make impacts. She never hesitates to start a conversation with anyone. She loves to spend her free time hiking and meeting new people and friends of different backgrounds.
